Students Advised

    1. Ph.D. students:
Ten Ph D students have graduated under my advising (8 independently from 2005-2008 and two co-advised in 1999 and 2001). Among them one won the 2006 CCF Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation (China Computer Federation, K. Zheng, only seven winners in year 2006, nation wide), three won the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Awards from Tsinghua University (C.Hu in 2008, K. Zheng in 2006, and W. Li in 2005, only about 15% of the whole Ph D graduates each year will win the awards in Tsinghua University).
    2. MS students:
I have advised 31 MS students since 1996. Three MS students won the Outstanding Master Thesis Awards from Tsinghua University (J. Pan in 1997, Y. Gong in 2003, and Y. Xi in 2006, less than 10% of the whole MS graduates each year will win the awards in Tsinghua University).
    3. Undergraduate student
There is a special program in Tsinghua University called the Student Research Training project (SRT) (please refer to http://www.tsinghua.edu.cn/eng/board1/boardlist2.jsp?boardid=32&bid2=32050406&pageno=1). I have advised more than 10 undergraduate students in this program since 2005. Most of them have papers published through the SRT projects and come to the US universities in pursuit of their PhD degrees. I have received the Outstanding SRT Project Adviser Award in 2006 for supervising Xin Zhang (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~xzhang1/).
